Canonical and Eureca Training Center partner to deliver Ubuntu Certified Professional training in Russia

Canonical Ltd, the commercial sponsor of Ubuntu, today announced it has signed an agreement with Eureca Training Center to deliver 'Ubuntu Certified Professional' (UCP) training in Russia. Eureca will deliver official courses in St. Petersburg from June 2007.

Two five day courses, Ubuntu Professional Courses 1 & 2, will assist System Administrators to pass the required LPI 101, LPI 102 and the Ubuntu 199 exams, and achieve the Ubuntu Certified Professional certification. These courses are the first in a series of classroom and e-learning courses scheduled for launch throughout 2007. “The popularity of Ubuntu in the Russian Federation has really impressed us and it is clear that there is real demand for Certified skills and qualifications in Russia. We are delighted to have partnered with Eureca to facilitate the growing training requirements in this fast moving region” commented Chris Kenyon, Business Development Director at Canonical.

Dmitry Safronov, Director at Eureca Training Center continued, “becoming Ubuntu training partner allows us to both meet increasing customer demand for the certification and fulfill our own business objectives by being first to market in providing best of breed I.T. courses. We have no doubt this will contribute to further raising the popularity of Ubuntu desktop and server solutions in Russia.”

The first Ubuntu Professional course will open in St. Petersburg in July and will run for five days.
