Hello Ubuntu Server

The purpose of this communication is to provide a status update and highlights for any interesting subjects from the Ubuntu Server Team. Spotlight: Call for Testing – Chrony and Subiquity

With the release of Bionic quickly approaching the Server team woud like to send out a call for testing of two new features. The first is the new Ubuntu Server ISO based on Subiquity. Check out this blog post by Dustin on how to get the new ISO and an overview of the new process. The second is a request sent to the ubuntu-server mailing list to test Chrony.

  • ds-identify: Fix searching for iso9660 OVF cdroms for vmware (LP: #1749980)
  • Documented chef example incorrectly represented apt source configuration for chef install
  • SUSE: Fix groups used for ownership of cloud-init.log (Robert Schweikert)
  • OVF: Fix VMware support for 64-bit platforms (Sankar Tanguturi)
  • Salt: configure grains in grains file rather than in minion config (Daniel Wallace)
  • Implement puppet 4 support (Romanos Skiadas)

curtin

  • docs: Experimental ZFS support
  • docs: Add HACKING.rst doc to readthedocs
  • vmtest: fix centos image sync
  • fix install failure exit code

git-ubuntu

  • New CI pipeline in place
  • New self-test command to run lint tests and unit tests
